Kitchen Essentials: My KitchenAid and Its Co-Stars

I love to bake, and over the years I’ve collected…a lot of baking supplies. My KitchenAid Mixer is my countertop workhorse. I’ve had it for a long time, and it still runs like new. Over time I’ve added some accessories to the roster that make using it even easier and more fun! Some links in this post are affiliate links—I may earn a small commission if you shop through them (thank you!).

KitchenAid Mixer

I have the copper one, and it looks so great left out on the counter. But honestly, I would love any color, they’re all so good.

KitchenAid Mixer Slider

One thing that always drove me nuts about the KitchenAid Mixer was how heavy it was to move. I have deep kitchen counters in the corner, and moving the mixer was sometimes a little awkward. Ever since I got this mixer slider, moving it around is a total breeze.

The slider takes an already amazing kitchen accessory and levels it WAY up. Something so simple, but so effective!

Flex Edge Beater

This Flex Edge Beater seems so simple, yet makes a huge difference when mixing up cookies and cake.

It scrapes down the sides as you mix, so you don’t have to stop the mixer and scrape by hand. Time and effort saved in the kitchen is always a win in my book!

Ice Cream Maker

This isn’t essential per se, but who doesn’t want the ability to make ice cream at home anytime they want?! This ice cream maker that attaches to your KitchenAid mixer makes it possible.

With a little bit of planning (you need to freeze the bowl 24 hours ahead of use), you can make AMAZING ice cream in pretty much any flavor you can think of. My favorite ice cream recipe book is Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams at Home. It has tons of unique recipes, how-to info, and easy-to-follow recipes.

There’s my short and sweet list of things that make my baking that much easier and more fun. Am I missing anything? Let me know in the comments!
